MALE BAG RIDERS TO DELIVER PROSTATE MESSGAE TO COUNTRY BLOKES!

Twenty-three blokes on postie bikes will visit the Victorian high country to raise awareness and funds to battle prostate cancer and support families affected by the disease in regional Australia. They are members of The Male Bag Foundation, a non-profit organization, who have since 2013 raised over $1.8 million and fast-tracked the supply of Transperineal Biopsy Machines (TBMs) and specialist care services to 14 hospitals throughout regional Australia.

In rural Victoria, South Australia, NSW and Tasmania men are now having safe, targeted, accurate prostate biopsies free from sepsis infections using the Transperineal Biopsy Machines (TBM) that were initiated and funded by The Male Bag Foundation.

This year’s Male Bag Ride starts in Melbourne on Thursday 19th October. The iconic Postie bikes will travel through Euroa, Bright, Yackandandah, Beechworth, Myrtleford, Whitfield, and Benalla before returning to Melbourne on Sunday 22nd October. During this ride we aim to raise funds to support rural Australians, and specifically Hamilton Base Hospital and blokes in Victoria’s Western District.

All the riders and support crew, pay their own expenses so that every cent donated to the Male Bag Foundation goes straight to paying for the biopsy machines for hospitals in regional Australia.

Again, our Patron and AFL Legend, David Parkin will be one of the riders.

Whilst capturing the spirit of adventure through our iconic Postie bike rides, the Male Bag Foundation raises awareness and funds for the fight against this insidious disease. Prostate cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death for men in Australia, and this year around 3,300 will sadly lose their life to the disease.
